Were it not for keen-eared LP compilers in the mid-late 90s, moody Dutch Beat supremos Group $oall (ideally pronounced as an approximation of 'soul') may have remained buried in obscurity for all time! The quintet from Hillegom in the province of South Holland existed from 1961 to 1969, but only recorded twice, both times in 1967. Their May session at Drie Kronen Studios in Amsterdam yielded 4 songs, subsequently released as a 7" EP on the studio's own in-house label, in a private edition of just 200 copies, housed in a fantastic picture sleeve, and now very sought-after. An earlier session at GTB in The Hague also produced 4 songs, including earlier takes of "Will You Teach Me How To Love" and "Adation" from the aforementioned EP. 3 of those titles were eventually issued by collector label Platenclub Utrecht in 1997, but "Adation" makes its very first appearance here!
